WHOUHAOU! is an immersive installation dedicated to dance. In this unique project you are invited to dive in the movement and to let go. Embark on a 360° space and let this new adventure guide you. Stimulated by sounds, images and lights, reconnect with your body language and the sense of movement. Step into a dancer’s shoes and become a performer. Let’s go, be bold and dance. An adventure to live together!
Atypical and innovative, WHOUHAOU! is at the same time an exhibition, a workshop and a participative installation. WHOUHAOU! questions the characteristics of learning how to dance and how to apprehend, build and experience an artistic exhibition. In the century of social medias, where our lives are fashioned by the "control" of our image and our emotions, WHOUHAOU! allows us to find time for ourselves. Leave your belongings and prejudices in the locker room and enter the WHOUHAOU bubble! Without judgment or fear, listen to your body and your emotions.
Come in, step by step, and get ready.
All around you, video projections and a 360 ° sound system.
Let yourself be guided and follow the movement.
Your body wakes up, all your senses are on alert.
The video mobilizes you, transports you.
She sets you into motion in a diverted/different way.
Feel free to act, you’re at home.
Jump, turn! Vibrate, dance!
Letting go together.
CENTER POMPIDOU - STUDIO 13/16
WHOUHAOU! first exhibition took place at Centre Pompidou in the Studio 13/16 during one month. From 12th of March to 10th April 2016. A memorable first step.
LE CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA DANSE
To better appreciate the scope of this installation and to consider all its educational issues, WHOUHAOU! Had a partnership with the Centre National de la Danse de Pantin. Initially, this collaboration worked as a model for application classes of Marina Rocco and Sherry Sable. Secondly and as part of the plural dances program "Les Eclats", the CND presented a version of WHOUHAOU! adapted to its scenic space.
THE TEMPLE TILE
A rich ground for cultural projects and incubators of new artistic forms, Le Carreau du Temple decides to welcome the WHOUHAOU! team as resident artists. For two months, the institution hosted the creation and the shooting of the WHOUHAOU! movie.
